Dr. Saladino grew up in the suburbs of Long Island with a passion for working with animals of every shape and size. She and her four siblings were raised with many dogs, and from an early age, her dream was to become a veterinarian. While earning her Associate’s degree in veterinary science at SUNY Farmingdale, she trained canines for the disabled.
Since then, life has taken Dr. Saladino on many different paths. She moved to Arkansas to work in the poultry industry. Her time there included operating Chicken Bristle Farm where she trained and boarded horses and raised cattle, goats, and chickens. It was also a haven for many rescue llamas, dogs, and cats. During this time, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Arkansas (Go Razorbacks!).
Her continued desire to become a veterinarian brought her to Raleigh. At North Carolina State University she earned her veterinary degree (Go Wolfpack!). Happily, Raleigh has become her forever home. Since graduation, she has been practicing as a small animal clinician. Her special interests are in behavior, allergies, osteoarthritis, pain management, senior and palliative care, and all things feline. Dr. Saladino is thrilled to have partnered with Dr. Kakarla to start Shepherds Vineyard Animal Hospital.
