Her continued desire to become a veterinarian brought her to Raleigh. At North Carolina State University she earned her veterinary degree (Go Wolfpack!). Happily, Raleigh has become her forever home. Since graduation, she has been practicing as a small animal clinician. Her special interests are in behavior, allergies, osteoarthritis, pain management, senior and palliative care, and all things feline. Dr. Saladino is thrilled to have partnered with Dr. Kakarla to start Shepherds Vineyard Animal Hospital.

Dr. Saladino understands the deep connection people have with their beloved pets. The human animal bond is precious. She emphasizes this bond and practices ‘wholistic’ medicine. She defines this as incorporating the pet’s behavior, environment, training, pain level, stage of life, and medical status whenever she devises a treatment plan. Giving pet parents as much knowledge as possible in order to make the best decision for their pet is her primary goal.

Outside of the hospital, she adores spending time with her spouse Steven and her many cats. She loves running, riding horses, gardening, cooking and doing anything outside. She is active in her church, works with seniors, and supports our veterans. The way to her heart is the ability to better her community.
